A Day in the Life of a Flight Attendant; September 25, 2021.
Do you ever wonder what a day as a flight attendant looks like? Well, it is NEVER the same. But…. isn’t that the fun part? Today I am going to be actively writing throughout my day, Saturday, September 25th. Cheers to another day flying!

Okay first things first, I am sure you have all had a delay because of “crew rest,” well that happened to us last night. There is a term called reassignment, which is defined as; the allocation or distribution of work or resources in a different way. We got reassigned. When we were flying yesterday evening we got notified that our schedule had changed and we had more added flying to the next day, which is today. Our minimum rest requirement is 10 hours, meaning no matter what, we legally need 10 hours of rest until our report time. In summary, we got in late last night, therefore had to push back the flight today, which caused a delay. My crew and I rocked it, woke up early, and got those passengers to their destination without any hesitation.
Next, Uber to DC? Just what I wanted to do on a Saturday, but seriously, there was no traffic! It was a quick 35 minute drive from IAD to DCA. Once arrived in DCA, we then caught a deadhead. What is a deadhead? Is the practice of carrying, free of charge, a transport company's own staff on a normal passenger trip so that they can be in the right place to begin their duties. Deadheaded from DCA to PHL, where we then patiently waited for our plane so we could operate our flight to Kansas City to finish up the work day. Half a plane of passengers and a 3 hour flight, we were ready to be in our hotel rooms!
Duty period was 11 hours, 3 flights & an Uber, total flight credit around 5.51 hours. Flight attending is hard, but it is SO worth it. On the plus side I was able to get a Starbucks to keep my energy going in Philly. They say its the little things right?
I am now going to indulge in Oreos & Doritos in my hotel room, while watching a chick flick, but only after I post this for my favorite followers!! Have a blessed weekend. Tata for now, XOXO
