New Year’s in Las Vegas

I’m sure you all are reading the title of this post thinking she will NOT be able to write about much…. what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right.. just kidding! Well no worries, there is still so much I CAN tell you, lol! My sister, Paige, & I had a blast on the strip, off the strip, and hiking!

Staying On Lake Las Vegas

To start things off, we were extremely blessed to be able to stay on Lake Las Vegas! If you are going to be in Vegas for more than a few days, the strip gets to be a tad too much for a weeks stay. Lake Las Vegas was a 25-30 minute drive to downtown/the strip! The lake is a super vibrant area with only a few shops and restaurants (not all of them were open, so call before going.) Once you get out of the lake area, there are a few gas stations, a CVS, and a few restaurants that are a quick 5 minutes away. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway, I highly recommend staying on Lake Las Vegas. Keep in mind, that the average nightly price ranges from $300-$400, so make sure you save up!

Fremont Street

We spent one of our first evenings on Fremont Street. We visited a few years prior, but in the summer of 2020, which was shortly after our country shut down, so almost everything was closed. If you have never been, the best part is just walking up and down Fremont where you will see the street acts, live music, shops, ziplining, restaurants, bars, etc. My sister had never been to Dicks Last Resort, so I felt it was the perfect time to take her, (I am sure for those that have been to a Dicks Last Resort are laughing inside right now.) Anyway, make your way to Fremont, you’ll enjoy it!

Strip for New Year’s

The Strip for New Year’s…. I know what you’re thinking…. BAD IDEA! You are not completely wrong, with the traffic and Las Vegas Blvd being closed it wasn’t the entirely best idea, but it was soooooo much fun!

We started out our evening with a reservation at the Sugar Factory. As I stated above, Las Vegas Blvd was closed at 5 pm New Year’s Eve so we had to get to the strip around 4:30 pm. We had a long night ahead of us.. lol. After dinner, we had to make what felt like a 3 mile walk right across the street to the Aria, which was where we decided to start the New Year.

Valley of Fire State Park

An hour drive from Lake Las Vegas or an hour and a half from the downtown you arrive here…in the middle of nowhere, the most peaceful and quiet park I’ve been to.

The Valley of Fire is known for it’s red sandstone rock formations. Try to plan your visit around sunset…. it’s the best time to see the rocks illuminate and look like fire.

Hiking is a must. To get to any landmark or sight, you will have at least a mile hike. As you can see in the pictures, it is beyond stunning. One of the hikes we did was to the end of a canyon. This is the perfect little day trip while staying in Vegas!

P.S. If you have a national state park pass make sure you bring it with you as there is a fee to get into the park.

My Sister’s Birthday

So as you can tell from the picture, I am a nerd and LOVE decorating for birthdays! Since we were away from home, I wanted to try and make it the best birthday for her. During the day we went to get her favorite snacks! We then started our evening with dinner at Giada which is in located in the Cromwell on the strip, AMAZING! It conveniently worked out perfect since we were seeing one of my sister’s favorite rappers perform later on. A night full of celebrating her, making new friends and to top it off we were in one of the best cities!

Now I won’t speak much on this subject since this is a PG-13 blog… my gift to my sister were tickets to Thunder Down Under. Let me just say, it was my the best part of the trip, hands down, lol. If you ever are looking for a bachelorette event, or just want to spoil your mom/grandma/aunt this is the perfect outing!

My first week in 2022 was full of friends, family, cute outfits, fantastic food, and plenty of fun! I would do it again, and knowing me I probably will. Thank you for reading, if any of you are in Vegas for New Year’s make sure you give me a call, I might be there, haha!

Tata for now, XOXO Tay
