Top Sights To See In Milan, Italy
Ever been to the fashion capital of the world? A little motivation might steer you in the right direction to planning a visit! I was in Milan just a few weeks ago, and was able to see plenty of history and create a lot of beautiful memories! The top sights I will be sharing are in my opinion a MUST on you’re itinerary when visiting Milano.
Duomo di Milano.
The Milan Cathedral AKA Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica of the Nativity of Saint Mary.
Original built in 1386, has a capacity of 40,000 people, and is an outrageous height of 354 feet.
Located in the Square of Duomo (city center.)
Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II.
BEST SHOPPING IN MILANO.
Italy’s oldest shopping gallery with many high-end boutiques such as Prada, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton.
Opened in 1877, 3 floors, remarkable glass and iron ceilings.
Numerous well-decorated restaurants with a lot of history.
Darsena di Milano.
Small waterway, next to the Porta Ticinese, the only part left of the intricate water system of canals and rivers in Milan since the Roman times.
NIGHTLIFE in Milano. 100’s of bars and restaurants up and down the canal.
All you can eat buffet at almost every eatery, usually around 12 euros per person. An Italian tradition that is very different, but is worth the experience.
Sforzesco Castle.
A Medieval Castle built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan.
Castle was the main residence in the city of its Visconti lords, and then was destroyed by the Golden Amborsian Republic in 1447.
Sforza began reconstruction in 1450, hired an architect, and was finalized in 1476 to what it is today.
There is a Museum and Café located inside the grounds. It is UNREAL.
There you have it. Those are just a few that made the top of my list, but there is still so much history to see in the city. Do your research! I wouldn’t have discovered these sights without doing some digging.
& as always, I will attach my pictures. Email me, DM me on Instagram or Facebook for any questions or comments. Happy Travels! Tata for now XOXO
