Part 1: My Favorite Beaches Around The US
Three States where my favorite beaches are located…only THREE! Can you guess where they would be?!
State #1 : FLORIDA
You are probably aren’t shocked since this state is famous for its beaches..
Here is my take on my favorite beaches in Florida. (:
Pensacola Beach, Florida
Pensacola Beach is close to my heart, my parents made this another home for me. Growing up many of our vacations were spent around the Destin/ Pensacola area.
Home to the Blue Angles, which is the U.S. Navy’s elite flight demonstration squadron.
It is located on one of the marine eco-trails, meaning plenty of sea turtles and other marine life are always present. (:
Virginia Key Beach, Key Biscayne
Virginia Key & Key Biscayne are just minutes away from Miami’s downtown area as well as Brickell.
Known for watersports, biking, picnic’s, and family time! I have spent lots of time with family and friends here, not too far away, is a perfect day trip!
Manatee’s love the area (especially at the beach towards the end of Key Biscayne in the state park), it is shallow, peaceful and a wonderful home for them. I’ve been fortunate to see the beautiful animal almost every time I go!
Key West, Florida
For those that don’t know Key West is the Southern most point in the United States.
It is one of the best places to snorkel in the states, as it is home to the 3rd largest great barrier reef.
Fun fact: My sister, mom and I snorkeled in the middle of the ocean outside of Smathers beach (in Key West) we noticed shark’s swimming all around, sister freaked out, I stayed in like a crazy person, but we came to find out they are nurse sharks! Don’t worry all they will do is come up to you and suck off your dead skin cells. (: haha.
When you go, drive! It is about 2-2 1/2 hours from Miami International Airport. As you are making your way to Key West, you will drive through all of the different keys ( 800 by the way) and will get to see different kinds of wildlife, local restaurants, and you’ll go across the famous Seven Mile Bridge!
Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida
I called South Florida home for a few years, so I got to know where the good spots where up and down the coast. Every morning I would go to the same exact spot and take a walk on the beach, it got me ready to start the day.
It is a place to either party or relax, I made sure to do a little bit of both. On S Fort Lauderdale Blvd (which is along the beach) are 4 blocks of bars and restaurants, shops, clubs, etc. Its a great spot to do the beach and the bars or either or! I was able to meet some of the best people who are now some of the best friends here!
Unlike other parts of Florida it can sometimes get a little chilly in the winter, here in south Florida the average yearly temperature is around 75 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can come anytime throughout the year!
